WP / “HSM”

WP / “HSM” is the abbreviation for wood preservative. In principle, wood preservatives can be differentiated into::

• solvent-containing WP / HSM (active substances including PCP, lindane, DDT)
• WP / HSM containing coal tar, e.g. tar oils (active substance: PAH)
• water-soluble WP / HSM based on salts (with inorganic active substances: mercury, arsenic, boron, chrome, fluoride, copper, zinc)
