A new version, dated November 29, 2023, is now available. It will be gradually introduced by the individual states, with country-specific modifications possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This results in significant changes for the disposal of construction debris: All buildings constructed before 1994 are generally considered to be potentially asbestos-contaminated.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Prior to any construction interventions, such as demolition, renovation, or maintenance, in buildings where construction began before October 31, 1993, and for which there is no proof of asbestos-free status due to a previous asbestos remediation, a specific investigation for the pollutant asbestos is required. This requirement arises from the provisions of the KrWG, the GefStoffV, the Construction Site Ordinance (BaustellV), and the respective state building regulations.
