Zinc has a wide range of applications. In industry, it is mainly used as\u00a0<strong>Corrosion protection for steel components<\/strong>\u00a0(\"galvanising\") is used. In paints, it was the usual colour for many years.\u00a0<strong>White pigment<\/strong>\u00a0(\"zinc white\"). As an inorganic active ingredient, zinc was also used until the end of the 1980s.\u00a0<strong>in water-soluble wood preservatives<\/strong>\u00a0included.
