Chrome

The heavy metal chromium is used as a chromium (III) compound primarily in Tanning processes ("chrome tanning") and for Alloys and is also used in certain Salt-based wood preservatives can be found. Chromium (III) is significantly less toxic than the chromium (VI) compound, which is also frequently found (see Chromate).
