To protect the environment, there are numerous interlocking laws (BNatSchG, BayNatSchG, FFH and SPA directives). Before undertaking any projects, it is regularly required to assess the impacts on the environment and nature. Impacts on living organisms and habitats can arise especially during construction activities and the operation of facilities. Therefore, a special species protection assessment (saP) must be conducted to determine which species protected under European law (species of Annex IV of the FFH Directive) occur in the project area and whether measures for their protection are necessary. A landscape conservation plan (LBP), which describes the intervention, its impacts, and necessary measures, may be required for approval. For projects of particular significance, the Environmental Impact Assessment Act (UVPG) mandates a comprehensive examination of various aspects within the framework of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Ecological assessments identify potential conflicts with conservation assets (water, soil, air and climate, flora and fauna, landscape). They indicate whether measures to protect the environment and nature or to compensate for the impacts are necessary. Our team guides the way to realizing projects in compliance with regulations and available opportunities.
