Inspection of retaining structures in Huetting

Above the district of Hütting, Markt Rennertshofen, the exposed rock massifs and rock-interspersed steep slopes have been regularly inspected in recent years with regard to their risk of falling rocks and boulders. Where necessary, safety measures were planned and implemented to protect local residents and infrastructure. In order to ensure the long-term functionality and serviceability of the safety structures constructed, the structures must be subjected to regular inspections (annually), checks (5-yearly) and tests (15-yearly) with increasing depth of inspection in accordance with the recommendation of the Central Centre for Engineering Structures and Georisks (ZIG).

• Evaluation of historical construction files on existing safety structures built after 1990; compilation of technical construction data
• Sighting of a rockfall protection fence, three rows as a gallery fence in the rock face
• Initial survey and inspection of three wire fences, one wire rope safety device, five shotcrete structures with rock nails, one rock bolt structure and three cross-links, both on foot and using rope access technology
• Preparation of building drawings
• Recommendations for refurbishment measures if required
• Creating permanent access to suitable attachment points for structural inspections
