Expert activities in the field of contaminated sites must rely on qualified sampling. Therefore, LGA Institute for Environmental Geology and Contaminated Sites GmbH has implemented a comprehensive quality management system and is accredited by DAkkS (German Accreditation Body) according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 for these activities (by the way, since 1994!). As part of the annual audit, this time the sampling of soil (soil description according to KA5), topsoil, soil air, and surface water was intensively reviewed by the DAkkS auditor. Our employees Hendrik Belz (aspiring expert according to §18 BBodSchV) and Marco Wagner impressed with their clean and routine work.
We are also certified as a testing laboratory by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment (LfU). This certification comes with additional requirements, such as the obligation to participate in interlaboratory tests. The LfU organized such a test in September 2024, and the results were presented at a symposium in Hof on November 28.
A total of over 50 companies or branches were asked to conduct qualified sampling at a designated groundwater monitoring site in Lauf a. d. Pegnitz. The requirements were very high and were also controversially discussed by the participants. According to the preliminary results presented, LGA achieved one of the best results with a minimal number of deviations. The official report is expected in the coming months.
