From Practice for Practice – under this motto, the Recycling 2025 Professional Conference took place in Stockstadt am Rhein from February 12-13, 2025. Bernd Malkmus and Matthias Linzer from the LGA team participated in the event. The organizer was the German Demolition Association (DA).
On the first day of the event, participants were invited to a tour of the RECYCLING PARK at Coreum, where the latest technologies were showcased in a live environment across 16,000 m². The evening get-together with dinner provided an opportunity for networking with other engineering firms, remediation and demolition companies, and recycling operations. On the following day, presentations and discussions were held by manufacturers, users, public officials, lawyers, and experts, addressing the question of how well the EBV has proven itself in practice. The EBV (Ersatzbaustoffverordnung) came into effect on August 1, 2023 It was not only about identifying obstacles but also about developing solutions.
In addition to the professional input, participants also appreciated the opportunities to exchange ideas and network with other practitioners during the breaks. The highlight was the exciting panel discussion, which examined the practicality of the visionary circular economy. Conclusion: A nearly 100% reuse rate for construction waste would be desirable, but given the current technical and economic feasibility, it is not achievable.
